The official site for Age of Conan has just uploaded a preview of the mage class for the game.
Apparently, theres going to be FOUR sub-divisions of the class:
Herald (of Xotli) - Focusing more on melee. The Herald is actually able to summon weapons and transform into a demon
Demonologist - Able to summon demonic pets, and wield fire and lightning
Necromancer - Able to reanimate the dead and wield unholy and cold magic
and Lich - Summons undead strength, becoming a powerful melee attacker as well as magic user
