Yesterday I wanted to type some response to my group, but I must have missed the < enter > key to start the chat a dn in stead all kind of windows and options and spells started to fly around. In my the chaos that followed I probably made a couple of more chaotic moves, but when everything cooled down I had a very spiffy and new pop-up window on my screen. It had 9 emote icons and a emote textbar for further emote fun. It really makes timely emotes a lot easier. It looked really handy!
But it was blocking a bit too much of my screen, and I didn't want to confuse my group any further so I closed it. Of course now I have no idea how to pop it back up again. But I am sure I can figure it out again. I'll play with it tonight some more and even post a screenie.

Heh, I kinda forgot how to open it too.
It got introduced about a month and a half ago.
I quickly stopped using it as the buttons each would play a random emote from that category. If you'd been able to either 'set' which emote the buttons would play, or drag an emote icon to your hotbar and define what it plays, it would have been more useful.
As it is I quickly found out I'm faster for me to use /commands and hitting tab as I'm pretty used to *NIX tab-completion.
It was a nice effort, but needed a follow-through which it never got.

"Y" is the default key to open the emote window,
unless you already assigned "Y" to something else, it should work..
If not, you can find it at the bottom of your control panel settings (category misc)

Yep, 'Y' brings up the window. And lani was a bit right that clicking on the icons does random emotes. But there is more to it! You can right click on the icons and get a nifty pull down.
That way you can pick exactly the emote you want. It makes it pretty easy to spew out fitting emotes. Normally I am way too late with them, but this might do the trick for me.
I submitted a screenie too. But that will need some approval first :)

Yeah, I know about the right-click menu.
But unless they'd revamp that right-click to 'set' the icon to that specific emote, as I tried to explain in my previous post, this does not save me any time. Maybe I'm a godawful great typer that hitting /e command goes faster than having to sort through pull-down menu's. Chalk it up to my preference for command-line shells over GUI's :-)
It's a nice feature, but in my mind not worked out well enough. And your screenie has of course been approved.
